Valhalla Powerlifting Club Takes on the 2026 Western European Championships

← Back to News

From September 17 to 20, 2026, Hamm became the stage for the Western European Championships, bringing together powerlifters from across Western Europe. For Valhalla Powerlifting Club, it was another opportunity to proudly represent Luxembourg on the international stage and another important chapter in our young club’s journey.

A proud weekend for Valhalla Powerlifting Club and Luxembourg at the Western European Championships!

Our athletes had the opportunity to compete on an international stage, representing both Valhalla Powerlifting Club and Luxembourg against strong athletes from across Western Europe.

Diana Macedo – Women’s -52 kg

In the women’s -52 kg category, Diana Macedo represented Valhalla Powerlifting Club and Luxembourg in a highly competitive field of eight athletes.

Diana finished the competition in 6th place and added another achievement to her record by setting a new Luxembourg national record in the deadlift with 135 kg.

The deadlift continues to be one of Diana’s strongest lifts, and once again she showed her strength on the international platform.

Competing at this level is about much more than the final ranking. It is an opportunity to gain international experience, perform under pressure and continue building towards future goals.

Emma Weydert – Women’s -63 kg Equipped

In the women’s -63 kg Equipped category, Emma Weydert represented Valhalla Powerlifting Club and Luxembourg in a field of three athletes.

Emma secured a Top 3 finish and was fighting for second place at the deadlift, making for an exciting finish to the competition.

She also delivered an impressive performance in the squat, setting a new Luxembourg national record with 162.5 kg.

The Western European Championships also marked Emma’s first competition with her new coaches, Louis and Jean, by her side.

Starting this new collaboration with a Top 3 finish and a national record made it a very positive first competition together. A strong start for Emma and her new coaches, with plenty to build on for the competitions ahead.

We’re looking forward to seeing how this new collaboration develops throughout the season!

More Than Just Competing

This championship was not only about what happened on the platform.

A huge thank you to all our Valhalla members who volunteered and helped with the organisation of the event throughout the weekend.

From setting up and helping behind the scenes to supporting the athletes and contributing wherever needed, your time, energy and commitment made a real difference.

Seeing our members not only competing, but also actively contributing to the organisation of an international powerlifting event in Luxembourg, is something we are extremely proud of.

Two national records, a Top 3 finish, international experience, teamwork and plenty of great memories a weekend to remember for Valhalla Powerlifting Club.

Thank you to everyone who competed, coached, volunteered, supported and helped make this event possible!
